Welcome to the DesignCon Speaker Center, we are thrilled you will be presenting at our event! This Speaker Center is designed to help you prepare for an exciting week of presenting, learning, and sharing ideas and provides general information associated with being a speaker at the event.

Speaker Registration & Benefits

As a conference speaker, you receive a complimentary All Access Pass to the expo and conference - we will email registration information to you. Other benefits of speaking include:

Paper & Presentation Requirements & Submission Instructions

ALL paper and slide submissions MUST follow the requirements below. Only create slides for panel discussion participation if instructed to do so by your panel organizer.

  • Download the Paper Template and please use this as the Word template for your paper*
  • Download the Slide Template and please use this as the template for your presentation**
  • Presentations must be submitted in a PDF format (contact your event operations specialist if this is an issue for you)
  • Submit your paper and slide presentations below***

* Papers are NOT required for boot camps, panels, tutorials, or Chiphead Theater sessions
** Slides are NOT required for panels. Panel organizers: If you will be using slides, please work with your panelists to submit ONE PDF for your entire group. If you are a panelist and not sure if you need a presentation, please contact your panel organizer/moderator.
*** If you need to make revisions after you have submitted, please upload via the Box widget and mark with V2, and so on for appropriate version.

  • The slide aspect ratio must be 16:9

  • Submit the final presentation in BOTH PDF (for proceedings) and PPT (for conference AV) format






Audio Visual

Standard conference session rooms will include the following. 

  • 1 Laptop
  • 1 Wired Lavalier Microphone
  • 2 Tabletop Microphones
  • 1 LCD Projector with VGA/HDMI Cable
  • Large Projector Screen (16:9)

Note: The laptops in the room will have your presentation preloaded so you’ll be ready to present.

Note that when conducting your presentation or participating on a panel, press may be present, including members of the Associated Press. Please be advised not to include confidential information in your discussion unless preceded by an "off the record" disclaimer.



Marketing & Pre-Show Promotion

By agreeing to speak, you have become a vital part of the conference and thus an important element of pre-event promotion. Here's how your involvement in pre-event promotion works:

  • Social Media: Please share your participation and engage with your network about your speaking engagement at our event.
  • Editorial Media: If you are interested, please contact Marissa Ray at Marissa.Ray@informa.com to arrange a pre-event interview with one of our staff editors about your scope of expertise and conference session. The world wants to hear about you and how you're influencing your industry.
  • Note that our marketing and editorial teams will be promoting your participation through various media channels throughout the pre-event campaign. Please be prepared to have your name and professional photo used on our marketing platforms, including website, media blogs, and social media.

Onsite Information

Speaker Ready Room
The Speaker Ready Room is for speaking faculty and event operations to discuss logistics, conduct meetings, prepare for presentations, and/or meet fellow speakers and panelists. If you need to provide us with an updated copy of your presentation, you’ll be able to find a staff member here to help you.

Conference Lunch
As a speaker, you’ll be provided with complimentary lunch all days of the event.

Mobile App
The mobile app provides access to the full conference schedule, onsite activities, networking events, theater programs, and the full list of exhibitors across all co-located shows. Mobile app download information will be provided closer to the event.  

Additional Notes

  • Please send in your presentation before you arrive on-site and bring a backup on a portable device.
  • If you have any additional A/V request(s), contact Sabrina Chang at Sabrina.Chang@informa.com
  • Do not include sales pitches and commercial information in your presentations. Our conferences provide educational and informative presentations. Speakers who include self-promotional content will not be considered for future speaking opportunities.
  • No sales/promotional handouts are to be distributed in the conference areas (including meeting rooms). Sales literature distribution is limited to exhibitor booths only.
