As we continue to plan for a productive and safe in-person event at the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accredited San Jose McEnery Convention Center, we are proactively rescheduling DesignCon to August 16-18, 2021, previously slated for April.
The move to August 2021 allows for DesignCon to allocate additional space at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, now taking the full venue for its ever-growing technical conference and allowing for even more professionals to learn from the experts who present each year.
August also continues to provide ample space on the DesignCon expo floor, allowing for increased exhibiting space, extra seating in Chiphead Theater, the addition of a Career Zone, and more.
The health and safety of the community that gathers at DesignCon is our top priority, and we will continue to diligently monitor the situation and provide updates to all of you as needed in line with health and government guidelines. Please continue to check back on this page for more information regarding the efforts we are taking to keep the community safe during DesignCon 2021.

All Informa events will be run according to official government and local authority guidance in the first instance, as well as any venue or location-specific regulations. Understanding the CARES Act
We at the DesignCon event understand the federal shutdown of non-essential operations currently in place to combat the spread of COVID-19 has many businesses experiencing economic stress. To support our community and simplify the process of securing financial support, we’ve developed a CARES Act FAQ that breaks down the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL), and provisions of the $2.2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act stimulus that lawmakers approved in March 2020.
The initial $360 billion allocated for small businesses was depleted in a matter of weeks, helping more than 1.6 million businesses remain in operation. On April 23, 2020, the House of Representatives approved a bill to replenish the program with $484 billion—$310 billion of which is apportioned to support small businesses, broken down between two types of loans, PPP, and EIDL.
