Digital Event Runs June 7-8, 2022

Health & Safety

Health & Safety are a top priority at DesignCon, hosted and managed by Informa Markets—Engineering. Informa has collaborated with association partners, peers, venues, suppliers, contractors and health, government, and local authorities to develop industry-wide All Secure standards that raise the bar on safe, hygienic, productive, and high-quality organized event experiences.

DesignCon continues to prioritize the health and safety of all guests (attendees, exhibitors, speakers, and other pass types) by adhering to state and local government guidance on large-scale indoor events.

Following similar guidance from the State of California, the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department has announced that indoor masking will no longer be required but recommended beginning March 2, 2022.  As a result, face coverings/masks will be encouraged but not be required at DesignCon. Masks will be available at DesignCon’s registration desk at guest’s request.

Additionally, the State of California announced on March 17, 2022, that effective April 1, 2022, requirements for vaccine verification or proof of negative test for indoor events of DesignCon’s size will be lifted. As such, proof of vaccination or negative test will not be required at DesignCon.

Read on for additional DesignCon’s Health & Safety actions that aim to create a safe and successful event. As needs around Health & Safety evolve, this page will be updated to reflect current requirements. We appreciate your patience as we adapt our policies to meet expert guidance and keep our visitors, partners, and staff safe.

Space to Innovate

  • While social distancing measures are not currently required by the state or venue, for personal comfort, chairs in educational rooms and theaters, as well as eating areas, will be set approximately 3-feet apart.
  • Directional signage and floor markers will keep traffic flowing smoothly to avoid congestion or areas that could lead to close contact.
  • Conference and complimentary educational session areas will have increased cleaning protocols.
  • Outdoor spaces will be available for impromptu small group conversations and networking, complimenting available indoor spaces.

Clean with Care

  • Regular disinfecting will occur to sanitize all seating, restrooms, and frequently touched public areas.
  • Medical personnel will be onsite and available to help individuals who are feeling unwell.
  • High touch points will be cleaned often throughout the day and between each session in meeting rooms.
  • Electrostatic sprayers will clean the full expo floor before move-in and are part of the cleaning regimen inside convention center meeting rooms and in hallways.
  • Sanitizing wipes will be available in every conference and sponsored session room for speaker use.
  • Audio visual equipment such as microphones, keyboards, and laser pointers will be cleaned between each session.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be readily available throughout the venue.
  • Food & Beverage will be located in specific areas that will be cleaned often.
  • Handshakes will be discouraged with other greetings encouraged.

Constant Communications

  • Leading to the event, DesignCon will share updates on Health & Safety in its email, social media, and website communications.
  • On-site reminders and any updated information around Health & Safety will be provided daily.
  • Signage will remind attendees and exhibitors recommendations while at the event.
  • Attendees agree to Health & Safety terms as part of the registration process.
  • DesignCon’s team will personally remind attendees of Health & Safety requirements on-site, as needed.

All of the above measures will be evaluated as DesignCon approaches the event dates to determine if any changes are necessary to meet guidance and regulations. Please check back here before attending the event for the latest Health & Safety measures. This page was updated on March 29, 2022.
