Faculty Benefits
Role as Faculty
As Faculty at DesignCon, it is your responsibility to submit an electronic version of both your presentation and a technical white paper (10-25 pages, and up to 50 pages for tutorials) that will be posted to the DesignCon website for registered attendees to download prior to the conference. Please do not send hardcopies of these materials. These materials should be submitted electronically, directions below. These are a very important value to our conference attendees and your audience. Please submit them on or before the deadlines.
Papers are optional for tutorials and for panels.
Note: PowerPoint slides or class notes are not a substitute for the technical paper.
Audio Visual
Each of the conference session rooms will include the following:
- 1 podium microphone
- 2 tabletop microphones
- 1 LCD projector with VGA cable
- Screen
Note: Speakers will be responsible for providing their own laptop, presentation slides, and slide progression.
Evaluations
Evaluations are passed out to attendees as they enter the classroom. At the end of each session, our Conference Team collects the evaluation, tabulates the results and provides each instructor with individualized feedback on their performance a few weeks after the event. Please be sure to make an announcement about filling out evaluations during your conference session.
Podium Notes
Podium Notes, or Housekeeping Notes, will be distributed each morning by conference operations and left on the podium. The Podium Notes include brief announcements about DesignCon, such as the time of the Expo Hall Reception, for example. Please take time to read the Podium Notes at the start of the session. For your convenience, a slide titled Housekeeping Notes was placed into the PowerPoint presentation. It is meant to be a reminder to read the podium notes. You may replace or delete the slide if you like.
