Welcome to the DesignCon Speaker Center, we are thrilled you will be presenting at our event! This Speaker Center is designed to help you prepare for an exciting week of presenting, learning, and sharing ideas and provides general information associated with being a speaker at the event. We look forward to seeing you then!

REGISTRATION


As a Speaker and/or a technical paper Author at DesignCon, you will receive a complimentary All-Access Conference Pass. You can retrieve your Speaker Badge at Speaker Services located at the main registration center. More details to follow. (Note: If you are interested in attending a Boot Camp, you will be sent instructions on how to RSVP as we get closer to the event.

TECHNICAL SESSIONS (panels, tutorials excluded) – Please let erin.davidson@ubm.com know who from your group will be speaking at the event ASAP.

  • Speakers will be automatically registered and DO NOT have to register separately.
  • Paper authors (who are NOT speaking) will be sent separate instructions to register themselves.
  • BOTH Speakers AND Paper Authors will receive a complimentary All-Access pass to this year's DesignCon.

SPEAKER BENEFITS


As a speaker, you get access to many benefits throughout the event cycle.

COMPLIMENTARY ALL-ACCESS PASS FOR THE ENTIRE EVENT

We welcome you, as a speaker, to attend the entire event, including all conference sessions, workshops, demonstrations and exhibits, as well as all meals and social functions. You will be exempt from any conference registration fee.

  • Your name, title, company, and biography will be featured on the DesignCon 2017 website

Paper Submission


PAPERS: Due Tuesday, November 15th

    • ALL paper submissions MUST follow the requirements below. Speakers who fail to provide papers correctly may not be considered as future speakers for the DesignCon Conference.

    ALL slide submissions MUST follow the requirements below. Speakers who fail to provide the proceedings materials correctly may not be considered as future speakers for the DesignCon Conference.

    • *Slides are NOT required for panels, but useful for attendees. Panel organizers- please work with your panelists to submit ONE PDF for your entire group. If you are a panelist and not sure if you need a presentation, please contact your panel organizer.

  2. DOWNLOAD THE SLIDE TEMPLATE
  3. UPLOAD YOUR FINAL PRESENTATION
    You will upload your presentation via Box below:
    • Name your PDF file: SLIDES_FirstFiveWordsofSessionTitle_YourLastname.pdf
    • In the Description, please put the title of your session and enter your email address.
    • Submit the final paper in PDF format only.

NOTES

  • Avoid sales pitches and commercial presentations. Experience shows that you will represent your company best by giving an educational, informative presentation.
  • Make sure to bring a copy of your presentation with you on-site.
  • Speakers will be responsible for providing their own laptop, presentation slides, and slide progression.
    • ***If you are using a Mac, please remember to bring a dongle.***

  • No sales/promotional handouts are to be distributed in the conference areas (including meeting rooms). Sales literature distribution is limited to exhibitor booths only. Speaker Registration


As a speaker, you receive complimentary registration to DesignCon. Show management will automatically register all Speakers as listed on the Conference Schedule. You will receive confirmation emails 2 weeks prior to the conference with badge pick-up instructions. If you do not see your name listed, please have your paper lead (most likely submitted the initial abstract for your paper), contact Erin.Davidson@ubm.com asap to have you added.

(NOTE: If you are also on the 2017 TPC Committee, please DO NOT register via the TPC Center registration link. This will cause the system to see this as a duplicate and delete both registrations. If you are selected as a speaker, you will not have anything further to do to register.)

AUDIO VISUAL

Standard conference session rooms will include the following:

  • 1 wired lavalier microphone
  • 2 tabletop microphones
  • 1 LCD projector with VGA/HDMI Cable
  • Screen

Note: Speakers will be responsible for providing their own laptop, presentation slides, and slide progression. If you are using a Mac, please remember to bring a dongle.
