PCB12500: 12.5Gb/s Parallel Channel BERT

The Centellax PCB12500 is a highly cost effective solution for characterizing crosstalk susceptibility of backplanes and cables, and to test the signal integrity of multi-lane serial data systems. By using the remote head, each of its 5 channels can be configured as either a generator, or an error detector to form a Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT). Patterns available include various lengths of hardware generated PRBS, 1010, 1100, DC logic 0 and logic 1. All heads can operate with differential or single ended outputs. Output parameters in the generator heads and input thresholds in the error detector heads can be independently programmed or ganged together for convenience. Each head connects to the PCB12500 controller through a 1m cable, allowing it to be located near the signal connection points in the device under test minimizing cable loss. PPG12500: 12.5Gb/s Programmable Pattern Generator

The Centellax PPG12500 is a 1-13Gb/s single-channel Programmable Pattern Generator. Key features such as 32Mbit user-programmable pattern memory and two-tap de-emphasis provide the capability for compliance testing in Backplane, Copper and Fiber applications e.g. PCIe, USB3.0, SAS, 802.3ap 10G Ethernet, and Displayport testing. The generator has integrated precision clock and data phase adjust to align the output waveform as desired.

The generator has 32Mbit programmable pattern memory and flexible trigger output. The programming software has many telecom and datacom preloads ready, including CJPAT, CRPAT, K28.5, PRBS2N-1 [N=7,9,10,11,15,23,29,31], etc. The generator differential output has fully adjustable output amplitude, crossover, DC offset, and two-tap de-emphasis.

SB40:40G BER Test System

The Centellax SB40 is a modular 40G BER Test System designed for device characterization, research and development testing, production testing, and general lab use. The base system tests the error rate of one in four bits of a 40Gbps true PRBS signal. The system features differential connections to the DUT, multiple divided clock triggers, and excellent output eye quality. With the addition of other modular hardware like high-power modulator drivers and additional BERTs, the system can be configured to perform a wide variety of BER and eye-mask tests at high bit rates.

The SB40 base system features a PRBS generator that can operate from 22-44Gbps, a 40G clock and data demultiplexer with external clock recovery options and optional BERTs capable of measuring error rates from 5.5-11Gbps. For more information www.centellax.com.
