DESCRIPTION:We present a compiler which takes in the description of an SOC as an executable specification. An executable specification makes it easy to manage design changes and to ensure that the effects of the change are easily visible. It ensures that all aspects of the SOC design are in sync and a change in specification propagates to all dependent data. Further, an executable specification ensures a quick turn-around on future derivative designs. We present a case study of assembling a wireless subchip with our compiler and demonstrate that an automated assembly reduces design cycle time as compared to manual approaches.
