Meritec will introduce its production ready NX+ Receptacle capable of performance in excess of 20Gb/s when used in conjunction with Meritec’s NX+ cabling. Meritec will demonstrate at DesignCon both 10 and 20 Gb/s per lane performance over copper. Meritec routinely supplies InfiniBand SDR and DDR assemblies to its customer base along with some QDR assemblies for limited applications. Additionally, these cables are being used in CX4, SATA, SAS, XAUI and other applications. The latest Meritec products, the newly designed 4X/12X board receptacles mated to Meritec’s 4X/12X Direct Attach NX+ cable assemblies have been successfully tested in the laboratory to 20Gb/s with <3% cross-talk. Testing is based on speculation of where the various data-link standards could reasonably go in the future.

Meritec continues to expand their Product Family of PCI Express and Card Edge Board Mount connectors. In addition to the complete line of PCIe Right Angle Thru Hole and Straddle Mount connectors, Meritec is currently manufacturing a X16 Right Angle SMT version running at speeds greater than 5.0 Gbps. The SMT version is currently available in stack heights of .650” and 1.33”. The 1.33” SMT is ideal as a 1 piece riser solution. Future plans for the Right Angle PCIe connectors will include Mirror Image configurations of the current Thru Hole versions as well as the low profile surface mount. Additional product designs include the SMT versions of the X1, X4 AND X8 configurations.

Meritec has announced the release of its new Micro Cable to Board IO Assembly family with 10Gbps per differential pair performance using ERNI’s MicroSpeed® connectors. The first assembly option being released comes with very low profile 50 position 1mm pitch, 2 row mezzanine connectors, embedded transitional circuit boards and 38awg micro coax high speed cabling. These micro-miniature cables provide ease of routing on the PCB or within the box. Male and female connector options and a wide array of connector orientations are available. Meritec’s process technology allows these Micro Cables to be used with different connector types and various wire elements, wire gauges, strain-relief/fastener options, assembly lengths and configurations. These high-reliability products are ideal for Medical, MIL/Aero and ATE cabling.
