Amphenol TCS announces its newest generation connector platform-XCede. The XCede^TM connector platform easily supports today's highest data rates with plenty of margin for future system upgrades. Amphenol High Speed Active Assemblies are ultra-high performance, cost-effective I/O solution for gigabit speed applications in data and switched fabric I/O, switches, routers, and computer clusters. They utilize up to 5.0 Gb/s wire speed connections with four or twelve channels. Amphenol's Active Assemblies exceed Infiniband standards and requirements and have been qualified to perform at 5Gb or Double Data Rate (DDR) Infiniband and 10GBASE-CX4. Our active assemblies are cost effective and EMI friendly compared to media converters.

Amphenol External Mini-SAS connectors provide both internal and external (I/O) connections to disk drives, tape drives, SAS switches, or storage enclosures. Compliant to SFF 8086, 8087, and 8088, Amphenol's Mini-SAS is an alternative to SAS for external applications and provides 4 serial communication channels with performance beyond 6 Gpbs for each channel. Amphenol's External Mini-SAS has been designed with a superior performance compliant metal EMI gasket to provide a metal-to-metal ground path, resistant to gasket movement and roll-over during installation. The enhanced Mini-SAS connector features integral SMT hold-down tabs, providing a higher degree of resistance to connector "peel-off" from the PCB under conditions of additional mechanical stress. External Mini-SAS Cages are available now in 1 port and 2 port versions, with 4 port ready for tooling.
