Cost controlling is a critical point in today's industry. In many areas, time to market is the only issue that counts, but selling a product at less than its cost is not beneficial for a company. To avoid the time-to-market trap, it is necessary to trace the cost and predict the final price during the development. Using cost models and an effective management strategy helps avoid the trap. In this paper, we give a general view of the aspects of the control of the IC design process.
