In today's wireless mobile computing platforms, the high-performance computing components and wireless communication subsystem are integrated into one system. Radio frequency interference (RFI) from the platform has been shown to be a significant factor in degrading wireless system performance. The RFI from each individual component has to be well controlled to optimize the whole system performance. In this paper, the radiation from Pentium clock generator ICs is studied. The impacts of on-die power delivery network and package design on radiation are presented.
