This paper describes the development and delivery of a curriculum to cross train digital engineers in signal integrity (SI) design. Having digital engineers with extensive abilities in SI increases the integration of SI into the product development process and provides a lot of flexibility for project staffing. This paper goes into the details of a syllabus for the training class, textbook selection, and homework exercises. The class has been successfully implemented at Plexus and would be appropriate for other digital design groups. A scaled back version could be used in a university setting.
