OpenAccess (OA) is an open-community-sourced IC design and implementation API and reference database developed especially for use in the multivendor environment. This TecForum includes an introduction to OA and its technical advantages. It also introduces the OpenAccess objects and methods and describes how to use them efficiently for netlisting, shape creation and traversal, placement and routing, and other physical and connectivity-based examples. At the end of the TecForum, a section on the OpenAccess three-year roadmap will be presented to give attendees an idea of what is to come in OpenAccess.
